The Benjamin Franklin High School graduate worked as a stockboy before joining the Marine Corps in August 1965. The 18-year-old private first class was sent to Vietnam, where be was assigned to Company M of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He died in Quang Tri Province on March 5, 1966, less than a month alter arriving in Vietnam. Survivors included his mother, stepfather. and several brothers and sister
