"Whitey" Whitehouse was a star outfielder on the Roxborough High School baseball team and talked about becoming a Philadelphia policeman. He worked as a shipping clerk at Fidelity Bank, Broad and Walnut streets, after graduating from Roxborough in 1966, and he was drafted into the Army in September, 1967. He trained to be a military policeman and was assigned to the 560th Military Police Company in Vietnam. The 21-year-old specialist four died on July 3, 1969 in the accidental explosion of a hand grenade. He was survived by his mother and two brothers
