The 1962 Bartram high School graduate drowned on July 22, 1966, as his army unit attempted to cross the La Drang river near Pleiku, Pleiku Province, while on a combat mission. The private first class was 22 years old. He was survived by his parents, 3 brother and 2 sisters.
