The 26-year-old Air Force chief master Sergeant was declared missing in action on Dec. 13, 1968, after an aircraft to which he was assigned did not return to the air base at Nakhorn Phanom, Thailand. "Sam" Walker was a 1961 graduate of Thomas Edison High School, and had entered the Air Force later that year. He is one of nine MIAs from Philadelphia.
