The 18-year-old private first class attended South Philadelphia High School before joining the Marine Corps in May 1967. He was a rifleman with Company D of the 1st Battalion, 27th Marines, 1st Marine Division, in Vietnam. He died at the Station Hospital at DaNang on May 17, 1968, of wounds suffered in combat in Quang Nam Province. He was survived by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
