The 18-year-old Army rifleman wrote home shortly before his death that he didn't think that people in Vietnam were as bad as they had been portrayed and that people could work out their differences if they were all treated better. Sokaisky graduated from Dieruff High School in Allentown, Pa., in 1966 and worked at Supply Corp. there as a draftsman. The rifleman was sent to Vietnam and as-signed to Company A of the 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry. 25th Infantry Division. He died on June 5. 1967. Survivors included his parents. three brothers and three sisters.
