Scott, a 21~year--old amphibious tractor crewman, was assigned to Cornpany B of the 3rd Amphibious Tractor Battalion, 1st Marine Division, in Vietnam. He died on Oct. 25, 1968, in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, when the landing vehicle in which he was riding hit an enemy land mine. Survivors included his mother.
