Miley graduated from Frankford High School in 1965 after earning varsity letters in track and cross country and playing an the fencing team. He was active in Boy Scouts and served as a Scout leader. He was a mechanic for Aamco Transmissions before enlisting in the Army in October 1966. The 20-year-old private first class, a cannoneer assigned to Battery C of the 1st Battalion, 21st Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division, died Oct. 10, 1967, near the Demilitarized Zone in South Vietnam. He was survived by his parents and two brothers.
