Johnson attended Olney High School and worked at the Valley Forge Army Hospital before being drafted into the Army in September 1968. The 20-year-old private first class was assigned to Company B of the 1st Battalion, 11th Infantry, 1st Brigade, Sib Infantry Division, in Vietnam Johnson died on March 27, 1969. He and his wife were expecting their first child. Besides his wife,he was survived by his parents and a sister.
