Gorman served in Korea before going to Vietnam in September 1967. The heavy weapons carrier, mortar carrier and a squad leader, was assigned to Troop B of the 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry, 4th infantry Division. The 22-year-old sergeant died in Kontum Province on Jan, 15, 1968. He was survived by his parents, two brothers, three sisters and a stepfather.
