Flores spent 10 days with his new bride be-fore leaving for Vietnam. "He would be home soon," his wife recalled, "and then we would have another honeymoon, a longer one." Flores was a light weapons infantryman and team leader with Company C of the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry, 1st Brigade, 101st Air-borne Division, he 21-year-old sergeant died on March 20, 1966, near My then, Iwo months before he was to return home. He was survived by his wife, parents and six sisters.
