Driggers played trumpet in a professional band for several years before entering the Army in November 1967. The specialist four, a light weapons infantryman, was assigned to Company B of the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. He died in Vietnam on Nov. 29, 1968, at the age of 24.
