The 1965 Thomas Edison High School graduate was engaged to be married when he entered the Army in October 1966. The 20-year-old sergeant, an infantry direct fire crewman, was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Calvary, 9th Infantry Division, in Vietnam. Dillman died on Feb. 8, 1968, during the Tet offensive. He was survived by his parents.
