Di Stefano, a carpenter, "wanted to come home and build a home in the suburbs for Mother and Dad. He had a lot picked out," recalled his brother. The 23-yearold specialist four had attended St. Thomas More High School before apprenticing to a carpenter. He entered the Army in March 1964 and was assigned to Company B of the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, in Vietnarn. Di Stefano, an automatic rifleman, died near Phuoc Vinh on Oct. 8, 1965. He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star. In addition to his brother, he was survived by his parents and three sisters
