Di Stefano, a carpenter, "wanted to come home and build a home in the suburbs for Mother and Dad. He had a lot picked out," recalled his brother. The 23-yearold specialist four had attended St. Thomas More High School before apprenticing to a carpenter. He entered the Army in March 1964 and was assigned to Company B of the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, in Vietnarn.
