Beadle came front a military family. One of his brothers lost a leg in Vietnam and the other had been a Marine for more than six years. His brother-in-law was two-time Vietnam veteran. Beadle "thought the world of the Marines," according to a relative and left Roman Catholic High School to enlist in November 1966. The lance corporal, a rifleman, was assigned to Company M of the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, Beadle died in Quang Nam Province on June 2, 1968, of fragment wounds inflicted during a friendly air strike. He was 19 years old. In addition to his brothers, he was survived by his parents and two sisters.
